REFUND POLICY

At SEDA College, we strive to provide the highest quality educational experience. While we hope you fully enjoy your time with us, we understand that circumstances may change. Our refund policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and efficient in resolving any requests.

1. General Policy & Scope

  • No Automatic Right: There is no automatic right to a refund if a learner changes their mind about studying at SEDA College at any time.
  • Course Commencement: If a learner withdraws after the course has started, no refund will be issued.
  • Administration Fee: A non-refundable administration fee of €250 will be deducted from all approved refunds.
  • Refund Window: Refunds are only applicable to fees paid during the most recent academic year in which the grounds for refund occurred.

2. Grounds for Refund or Partial Refund

Refunds will only be considered under the following three specific circumstances:

  1. Irish Study Visa or Extension Refusal
  • Applicable to students unsuccessful in obtaining or extending their visa.
  • Requirements: The request must be in writing and accompanied by:
    1. The official rejection letter from GNIB/ISD/INIS.
    2. A copy of the stamped passport.
    3. All original letters issued by the Academy and the student’s GNIB card (if applicable).
  • Exclusion: No refund is granted if the visa was refused due to the student providing false or incorrect information.
  1. Refusal of Entry to Ireland
  • Applicable if a student is denied entry upon arrival in Dublin.
  • Requirements: Must be submitted in writing with the official refusal letter from GNIB/ISD and a copy of the stamped passport.
  1. Illness or Disability
  • Applicable if a student suffers a medical condition after enrolment is confirmed.
  • Requirements: A medical certificate from a licensed professional is mandatory. If the student is already in Ireland, the certificate must be from an Irish-registered doctor.
  • Note: SEDA will not consider refund requests for medical issues raised after the course has already commenced.

3. Academic & Attendance Requirements

  • Attendance Threshold: Any student submitting a refund request for reasons other than those listed in Section 2 (subject to Academy discretion) must have achieved a minimum attendance of 85% at the time of the request, in accordance with GNIB/ISD requirements.
  • Course Changes: If a student changes their course of study during a semester to one involving fewer subjects, no refund of the price difference will be provided.

4. College-Led Changes and Cancellations

  • Schedule Alterations: SEDA reserves the right to alter course dates or examination schedules to improve service provision. Such changes do not entitle the student to compensation or a refund.
  • Course Cancellation: If SEDA is unable to provide or complete a scheduled course, a full refund of all fees will be issued to the learner without administrative deductions.
  • Disciplinary Action: No refund is granted if a learner is expelled due to a breach of the College’s Code of Conduct or disciplinary procedures.

5. Application and Appeals Process

  • How to Apply: All cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing using the official “Tuition Fees Refund Form” before the course start date.
  • Evaluation: Rejection letters from GNIB/ISD will be evaluated by the Academy to verify the validity of the claim.
  • Timeline: Learners will be notified of a decision within 10 working days of submitting a complete application.
  • Appeals: If a refund is refused, learners may submit a Refund Appeal Form. This will be reviewed by the Course Refund Appeals Panel (chaired by the Director of Quality), with a final decision issued within 5 working days of the panel meeting.
