SEDA College supports reproduction of Brazilian play in Ireland

SEDA College, through the project to support the dissemination of Brazilian culture, supported the reproduction of the play Valsa nº 6, written by Nelson Rodrigues, together with the Brazilian embassy.

The event, which took place on April 27th, was attended by several actresses, directors, and filmmakers, as well as the illustrious presence of the Brazilian Embassy in Ireland, Marcel Biato, and Nelson Rodrigues’ grandson, Sacha Rodrigues.

Danilo Veloso, Marketing Director at SEDA College, said he was proud to see a play in English by a Brazilian writer: “Encouraging Brazilian culture and art through theatre is our focus with our project. Watching this piece being reproduced in English for Brazilians and foreigners brings a great feeling of patriotism. We should always be proud of having had a writer as talented as Nelson Rodrigues in our country”.

The play, which is a monologue, stars Maya Terra, a Brazilian actress who lives in Manchester and is directed by Nina Mendes, a Brazilian director and filmmaker who lives in Ireland.
