REFUND POLICY

At SEDA College, we strive to provide the highest quality educational experience. While we hope you fully enjoy your time with us, we understand that circumstances may change. Our refund policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and efficient in resolving any requests.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. General Policy & Scope

● No Automatic Right to Full Refund:
There is no automatic right to a full refund if a learner decides to cancel thei enrolment at any stage.

● Pre-Commencement Cancellations:
If a learner cancels their enrolment before the course start date, they may be eligible for a partial refund, subject to applicable cancellation fees as outlined in their contract.

● Course Commencement:
Once the course has started, no refunds will be issued, except in the specific circumstances outlined in Section 2.

● Refund Window:
Refund requests will only be considered for fees paid within the most recent academic year in which the grounds for the refund arose.

● Cancellation Fee:
All approved refunds are subject to a cancellation fee, which may vary depending on the student’s country of residence, market conditions, and contractual agreement.
This fee may be:

○ A fixed amount; or
○ A percentage of the total contract value

The applicable cancellation fee will always be clearly stated in the student’s signed agreement.

2. Grounds for Refund or Partial Refund

Refunds will only be considered under the following circumstances:

2.1 Visa Refusal (Including Extensions)

Applicable only to students who require a visa to study in Ireland.

Important Condition:
Students must complete the full visa process, including any available appeal procedures, before becoming eligible to request a refund.

Requirements:

● Written refund request

● Official refusal letter from Irish Immigration (GNIB/ISD/INIS)

● Evidence that an appeal was submitted (where applicable)

● Final appeal decision outcome

● Copy of stamped passport

● All original documents issued by the College

● GNIB/IRP card (if applicable)

Exclusions:

No refund will be granted if:

● The student did not submit an appeal when eligible; or

● The refusal resulted from false, misleading, or incomplete information

2.2 Refusal of Entry to Ireland

Applicable where a student is denied entry upon arrival in Ireland.

Requirements:

● Written request

● Official refusal letter from immigration authorities

● Copy of passport with entry stamp

2.3 Illness or Medical Condition

Applicable where a student becomes medically unable to attend the course after enrolment.

Requirements:

● Medical certificate from a licensed professional

● If in Ireland, the certificate must be issued by an Irish registered doctor

Important:
Medical claims will not be considered after the course has commenced.

 

3. Academic & Attendance Requirements

Refund requests outside the standard grounds listed in Section 2 may be considered at the College’s discretion.

In such cases, the student must demonstrate:

● Minimum 85% attendance, in accordance with immigration requirements

Course Changes:
If a student changes to a course with fewer subjects or lower tuition value, no refund of the price difference will be issued.

4. College-Initiated Changes and Cancellations

● Schedule Changes:
SEDA College reserves the right to modify course schedules or examination dates where necessary. Such changes do not entitle the learner to a refund or compensation.

● Course Cancellation by the College:
If SEDA College is unable to deliver a course, a full refund of all fees paid will be issued, with no cancellation fee applied.

● Disciplinary Action:
No refund will be granted if a learner is expelled due to a breach of the College’s Code of Conduct.

5. Application Process

All refund and cancellation requests must be:

● Submitted in writing

● Using the official Tuition Fees Refund Form

● Submitted before the course start date (where applicable)

Processing Time:

Refund requests will be processed within a reasonable timeframe. The exact processing period may vary depending on the student’s market, payment structure, and contractual terms.

6. Appeals Process

If a refund request is denied, the learner may submit a Refund Appeal Form.

Appeals will be reviewed by the Refund Appeals Panel, chaired by the Director of Quality.

A final decision will be issued within 30 working days of the panel review.

7. How to Apply

To initiate a refund request, learners must contact their student advisor to obtain the official Tuition Fees Refund Form.

See below our grounds for a refund or partial refund of fees:

Irish Study Visa extension refusal (for students who are not successful in obtaining their visa). Any application for a refund must be made in writing and must be accompanied by both a copy of the rejection letter from the GNIB/ISD and a copy of their stamped passport.

Please note: the rejection letter issued by the GNIB/ISD will be evaluated by the Academy in order to assess grounds for any refund. All original letters issued by the Academy along with the student’s GNIB/ISD card must be returned to SEDA administration before any refund can be considered.

Illness or disability suffered after the student’s enrolment has been confirmed. In any such instance, a doctor’s certificate would be required to confirm.

Upon arrival to Dublin, should any student be refused access into Ireland for any reason, any application for a refund must be made in writing and be accompanied by both a copy of the rejection letter from the GNIB/ISD and a copy of their stamped passport.

Please note: the rejection letter issued by the GNIB/ISD will be evaluated by the Academy in order to assess grounds for any refund.

A refund will only be granted in respect of fees that have been paid for during the most recent year, in which (A) or (B) occurs.

Policy

⇒ There is no automatic right to a refund of fees if, at any time, a student changes his/her mind about studying at SEDA.

⇒ After course commencement, any student who needs to submit a refund request for any reason other than those specifically detailed above (a, b or c), will be required to have achieved a minimum attendance of 85% in accordance with GNIB/ISD (student visa requirements) at the time of request.

⇒ If a student withdraws after course commencement, no refund will be given.

⇒ All course cancellations must be made in writing, using the SEDA’s “Tuition Fees Refund” form before the course commencement date.

⇒ If a Student changes their course of study during their semester, no refunds will be given where the revised course involves fewer subjects.

Notes

⇒ Students who are found to have provided incorrect information, resulting in their visa being refused, shall be ineligible for any form of refund.

⇒ Whilst course commencement and completion dates are not expected to change, the Academy reserves the right to alter any previously detailed dates in order to facilitate or improve the provision of any course and any associated examination.

⇒ Those changes will in no way affect the other terms and conditions of the student’s contract with the Administration.

⇒ Should a change be necessary, the administration will not be liable to provide any form of compensation or refund.

Please note: an Administration fee of €250 will be deducted from all refunds given.
