All SEDA students can apply for an internship in Ireland free of charge! For more information see: www.seda.college/internshipBelow, SEDA student Isis Valenzuela shared her internship experience with us.

Hotel management

“I did my internship in a company that manages hotels around Europe and the world. My tasks included: filling out the system with tours and groups reservations, providing customers with quotes and dealing with cancelled bookings. I also had to reply to clients’ bookings inquiries by email and answer customer calls. In addition, I looked for allocations in hotels and made offers to clients.

It was a very good experience for me because my supervisor was always supportive and able to help. Actually all the team I worked with was made up of excellent and supportive people.

Improving your English skills

The internship was something new for me and moreover it gave me the opportunity to practice and improve my English skills. I learned a lot of English hospitality terms and now I know how a hotel works with bookings. The internship gave me more confidence about my English speaking and listening skills. It was something dynamic as it gave me the opportunity to interact with clients.

There was nothing negative that I can remember about my internship, and I would recommend my host company to other students as all my colleagues were lovely people.

I would also like to thank SEDA internship coordinators for their support – they offered me many options so that I could choose the one that suited me better.”
