SEDA College Goes Green: Leave No Trace for Earth Day and Beyond!

Today, as we celebrate our planet, we’re excited to announce a new initiative at SEDA College: The Leave No Trace campaign! This program aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and keeping our campuses clean and green.

What does “Leave No Trace” mean at SEDA?

You might have noticed a recent change – we’ve removed food waste bins from the classrooms. This is part of the Leave No Trace philosophy. Here’s how it works:

  • Food in Classrooms: As a reminder, eating food in classrooms is not allowed. This helps maintain a distraction-free and clean learning environment.
  • Designated Eating Area: Enjoy your meals and snacks in the designated Student Lounge, where you can relax and socialize with your classmates.
  • Take Your Rubbish: Following the “Leave No Trace” principle, we kindly ask you to take all your rubbish, including food wrappers and containers, with you when you leave the classroom.

Why are we doing this?

There are two main reasons:

  • Sustainability: Every piece of rubbish disposed of improperly has an impact on the environment. By taking your waste home, you can ensure it’s disposed of responsibly.
  • Cleanliness: A clean and tidy learning environment fosters better focus and a more enjoyable experience for everyone.

A greener SEDA, with a digital twist!

We’re committed to reducing our paper footprint too! That’s why, instead of printed posters, you’ll see announcements like this one displayed on our new digital screens around Dublin campus.

By working together, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable SEDA College. Thank you for being a part of this positive change!

Remember: Small actions by all of us can make a big difference for our planet. Let’s celebrate Earth Day every day by practising responsible waste management and leaving no trace!
