Volunteering is by far one of the kindest things ever. You do exactly what you would do at home or at work, but you do it simply to help someone else. There are volunteer opportunities all over the world, and it’s not different in Ireland. How about volunteering in Dublin? SEDA College helps you to participate!
In Ireland, there are several organizations looking for people willing to become volunteers, who may be of different ages and occupations. What they have in common is the desire to help the community and change lives.
A volunteer is usually someone who wants to spend their time, skills, and experience helping people who can’t perform any service, due to special needs, age, or any other reason.
In order to encourage our students to experience the volunteer work in Dublin, SEDA College has a partnership with Serve the City and we take students to do some volunteer work around the city.
MOST COMMON ACTIVITIES OF VOLUNTEER WORK:
- Painting and/or cleaning a house;
- Cleaning and/or tiding gardens.
Robson Azevedo, one of our students who attended a volunteer work in Dublin through our program, shared his experience with us:
“Being in Ireland is an incredible life experience. Not only because of English, but also because we can always learn new things on a daily basis, such as voluntary work.
Through SEDA, I had the opportunity to help a very gentle old gentleman, who needed a simple cleaning in his garden. An easy job, but it filled me with pride. It’s always good to help people who really need it. I had that feeling of accomplishment and fulfillment. “
