SEDA celebrates the graduation of the Ukrainian students

On Thursday 8 September, SEDA celebrated the graduation of 27 adult English Language students who successfully finished their three-month English Language course at the college.

The evening was enjoyed by all, with music, refreshments and a short presentation of end-of-course certificates.

SEDA  first opened its doors to offer free English Language classes to the people of Ukraine in March 2022, awarding a total of 113 full-scholarship places over the past few months.

Talking to the students who attended the evening, they described their delight at the progress they had made at SEDA in developing their communication skills.

Equally, their teachers talked about how much they enjoyed and valued the many contributions made by the Ukrainian students to their multicultural classes, where students of all nationalities come together to learn English.

Students on the evening programme attend classes every Monday to Thursday for 2 hours each evening.

With classes running from Beginner to Upper Intermediate level, each group is kept small so that every student can benefit from SEDA’s fully-qualified, experienced English language teachers.

The aim of our lessons is to develop reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that will help students to integrate into Irish society and to find new jobs and friends in the local community.

The teacher achieves this by giving personal attention to each student and setting up personalised, communicative activities that make the classes fun and encourage full participation.
