Meet  Meg O’Brien, the director of studies of SEDA College Cork

SEDA College soon will be ready in Cork, the final details are being arranged, and to familiarize yourselves with the Cork team, we are going to introduce you to the director of studies, Meg O’ Brien.

Meg is an experienced professional,  working in the English Language world for 5 years. She said that she loved to be a teacher, especially because this brings different experiences to her: “ I’ve taught a variety of levels and nationalities and adore the job. Mostly because I feel like I’m travelling around the world every day at work, meeting people and experiencing little tastes of their cultures”. Affirmed Meg.

She started in SEDA as an online teacher in August 2021, and now she was promoted to director of studies in Cork. She told us how she is feeling and her expectations about the new position at SEDA: “Working as a principal will certainly be a new experience for me, one that I can’t wait for! I think one challenge is that I will miss the classroom. I’ve always really loved working personally with my students and watching them grow and improve daily. However, I’m super excited to take on this new role and work with the students in a new way while expanding my experience within the ESL world!”.

When asked how she is planning to conduct her office and the school, she surprise us with a very delicate and touching answer: “Regarding the working world, one thing I’ve always believed in is that being kind is the most important thing. I expect that my office will be a place where students and teachers alike will feel comfortable and heard. I’ve already experienced such a wonderful atmosphere at SEDA so I certainly plan on contributing to this in a warm and friendly way”.

We all want to say a warm welcome to you Meg, we wish you a brilliant career as a director of studies.
