Who says Dublin, says Guinness! Did you know that the most visited tourist attraction in Ireland is the Guinness storehouse in Dublin? The huge plants of the Irish brewer dominate the cityscape of the Irish capital. It was Arthur Guinness who launched the Guinness empire in 1759. www.colombia.co

7 FLOORS THAT TELL THE GUINNESS STORY

The Guinness Storehouse shares the story of Arthur Guinness and his magical stout and it is simply a must see for anyone planning a trip to Dublin.

The building outside looks in all its years and all its history, while inside it was restored to join its history and the progress.

At the entrance I was struck by the biggest pint in the world, a glass which can contain 14 millions of pints of beer. In the floor is walled the lease of the brewery’s founder, Arthur Guinness, who started the Guinness history.

With some great interactive displays and beautiful surroundings, it’s well worth spending time on the first two floors where you will learn all you need to know about the beer.

MARVEL IN YEARS OF GUINNESS ADSmeguinness_ads

For those of you who enjoy old memorabilia or is just interested in commercials, the Guinness ads floor is worth spending time on. Take a look at some of the TV ads from down the years as well as some of their posters and ad campaigns that have helped make Guinness the brand that they are today.

For example: there were the famous billboards with ‘Lovely time for a Guinness “and more of those famous Guinness cries. I love them!

ENJOY THE BEST PINT OF GUINNESS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD

Nowhere in Ireland will you enjoy a nicer pint of the black stuff than at the home of Arthur himself. The tour ends with a complimentary pint of Guinness at The Gravity Bar and the views of Dublin City are well worth the seven floors.

Cheers!
