Easter Egg Collection
Easter Egg Collection
We love to help! Every year SEDA offer volunteer work to encourage our students to become active citizens in Dublin.
Easter is a well known celebration in Ireland, for years, people in Ireland have marked the start of spring. They celebrate the fact that the land has once again become fertile, birds are laying eggs and baby animals are born. When Christianity was introduced to Ireland, around the time St Patrick, many of these customs became connected with the resurrection of Jesus after his crucifixion, which is commemorated on Good Friday. Hence, the pagan beliefs around the rebirth of nature joined with the idea of Jesus’ resurrection. –https://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/ireland/easter
That is why our students gather together and donate around 200 chocolate eggs for the children who are in
Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin®
After we deliver the chocolates, a nurse took us around to see inside the hospital!
Thank you all for your participation, you have made a real difference.
