LOCATIONS NEAR DUBLIN FOR A DAY TRIP<\/h3>\n

1- BRAY<\/h4>\n

Bray is a coastal town in the north county of Wicklow, and is situated about 20 km south of Dublin city centre. You can enjoy the beach in Bray or do the cliff walk that starts in the town of Bray and ends in Greystones town – which during the spring has impressive views \u2013 refers to the photo above.<\/p>\n

Getting there:<\/strong> from the city centre, bus route 155 goes to Bray – takes approximately 50 minutes or you can take the Dart (train).<\/p>\n

2-HOWTH<\/h4>\n

Howth is a residential area of Fingal County, which was originally a fishing village. From there, it is possible to walk along the pier where the boats are anchored. It is also possible to enjoy the walk to the island \u201cIreland’s Eye\u201d, which is a nature reserve that protects seabirds and do the walk on the cliffs of Howth.<\/p>\n

On Saturdays and Sundays, there is a fair, the Howth Market, with jewellery, clothes, decorations, ice cream, sweets and a variety of foods from different countries.<\/p>\n

Getting there:<\/strong> from the city centre, bus route 31, approximately 47 minutes long \u2013 or by Dart.<\/p>\n

3- MALAHIDE<\/h4>\n

Malahide is a small suburban town in the county of Fingal, 16 km north of Dublin. The main attraction there is the Malahide Castle, which is open for visitation, but it is also possible to enjoy the Malahide beach.<\/p>\n

Getting there:<\/strong> from the city centre, bus route 17 takes approximately 35 minutes, or by Dart.<\/p>\n

4- D\u00daN LAOGHAIRE<\/h4>\n

D\u00fan Laoghaire is a coastal town about 12 km south of Dublin city centre. You can enjoy the day at the pier, visit the library and the maritime museum. The city also has great restaurants and usually hosts two Red Bull events a year, \u201cRed Bull Flugtag\u201d and \u201cCliff Diving\u201d.<\/p>\n

Getting there:<\/strong> from the city centre, bus route 46 that takes approximately 48 minutes.<\/p>\n

5- SKERRIES<\/h4>\n

Skerries is a coastal town in Fingal County. It was an active fishing port and a large centre for hand embroidery but later became a resort and a dormitory town for Dublin travellers.<\/p>\n

You can take a walk on the beach, visit the Ardgillan Castle and the two windmills that were used to grind wheat, oats and barley, and that certainly gives a charm to the city.<\/p>\n

Getting there:<\/strong> There are bus options, but the recommendation is to use the Dart and enjoy the landscape.<\/p>\n

6- KILLINEY<\/h4>\n

Killiney is an affluent seaside resort and suburb in Dun Laoghaire. The main attraction there is the Killiney Hill Park which consists of two hills, Killiney and Dalkey. They mark the southern edge of Dublin Bay and the border between the counties of Dublin and Wicklow.<\/p>\n

You can walk the park trails that have incredible views, visit the beach and even see the condominium where Bono Vox, the singer of the Irish band U2, lives.<\/p>\n

Getting there:<\/strong> from the city centre of Dublin, bus route 7, approximately 1 hour or by Dart.<\/p>\n

There are many places near Dublin! They have interesting stories, museums, events, delicious restaurant food and incredible views to take great photos. Talk to the natives, explore and enjoy the places!<\/p>\n
