Day 1 \u2014 The Heart of the City<\/span><\/h2>\n

Morning: The English Market<\/span><\/p>\n

Start your itinerary at Cork’s most emblematic place. The English Market, on Grand Parade, is a covered market that has been open since 1788 \u2014 yes, from the 18th century! There you’ll find artisanal cheeses, the freshest seafood, breads, and local products that tell the story of Irish cuisine.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s a sensory experience that goes far beyond a simple trip to the market. It’s open Monday to Saturday, from 8 am to 6 pm, and admission is free.<\/span><\/p>\n

Afternoon: Elizabeth Fort and St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral<\/span><\/p>\n

A short walk from the market, Elizabeth Fort is a 17th-century fort with free entry and one of the best panoramic views of the city. Right next door, St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral impresses with its Gothic architecture and stunning stained glass windows. It’s worth the \u20ac8 entrance fee to admire the details up close.<\/span><\/p>\n

Evening: Market Lane<\/span><\/p>\n

To end the day on a high note, Market Lane is a classic of Corkonian gastronomy. Bacon with cabbage, impeccable fish and chips, and a welcoming atmosphere. Book in advance \u2014 the restaurant is always packed!<\/span><\/p>\n

Day 2 \u2014 History and Nature<\/span><\/h2>\n

Morning: Cork City Gaol<\/span><\/p>\n

Afternoon: Fitzgerald Park and Cork Public Museum<\/span><\/p>\n

Afternoon: The SpitJack<\/span><\/p>\n
