Last weekend in Lisbon, this power became evident when two young Brazilian athletes transformed a story built in a social project in Rio de Janeiro into a historic achievement at the European Jiu-Jitsu Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

More than medals, the result represents persistence, collective support, and real social impact. And we at SEDA College are proud to be part of this story.<\/span><\/p>\n

A journey that begins on the mat and conquers the world<\/span><\/h2>\n

The journey of Kau\u00ea H. and Kawan is marked by continuous effort and overcoming challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming from a social project, the athletes arrived in Europe to compete in one of the most important competitions on the international calendar, and returned with double gold, winning gold in their weight category and in the absolute category, in the purple belt division.<\/span><\/p>\n

The feat is even more symbolic when you look at the path to it. There were three failed attempts to reach the European Championship, moments of pain, sacrifices, and uncertainty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Still, each obstacle became fuel to continue. The distant dream was not abandoned; on the contrary, it was nurtured.<\/span><\/p>\n

Double gold at the European Championship: more than a sporting victory<\/span><\/h2>\n

Being a European champion is already a significant milestone. Winning two titles in the same championship elevates the achievement to another level. The double gold achieved in Lisbon symbolizes technical excellence, mental preparation, and emotional resilience.<\/span><\/p>\n

These medals carry more than just the shine of gold. They carry history, discipline, and the reflection of a process built over years, with consistency and purpose.<\/span><\/p>\n

The role of the social project in this achievement<\/span><\/h2>\n

None of this would have been possible without the foundation formed at the JSBJJ Institute, in partnership with 3V Jiu-Jitsu.<\/span><\/p>\n

The social project’s mission is to use Jiu-Jitsu as a tool for transformation, offering real opportunities to young people who often live in vulnerable contexts.<\/span><\/p>\n

More than training athletes, the project shapes people. The mat becomes a space for learning, discipline, belonging, and building a future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Charity raffles, sales, support from collaborators, and family involvement are part of a collective mechanism that sustains long-term dreams.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teachers who transform the tatami into a school of life<\/span><\/h2>\n

The daily and committed work of teachers Michel Boiteux and Juliana Taparica is one of the pillars of this story. More than just coaches, they act as educators, mentors, and human role models for their students.<\/span><\/p>\n

Values \u200b\u200bsuch as respect, discipline, responsibility, and persistence are taught with the same importance as technique. This comprehensive training is what allows athletes from a social project to reach the international stage with preparation both on and off the tatami.<\/span><\/p>\n

The athletes are keen to emphasize that this achievement is not individual. It belongs to the families who never gave up, to their teammates, to the supporters, and to everyone who contributed to the journey continuing even in difficult times.<\/span><\/p>\n
