Relocating to a new country can be overwhelming, especially in the early days when homesickness kicks in. But having your partner by your side makes the transition much smoother. \u201cIt\u2019s like having a little piece of family in Ireland,\u201d says Let\u00edcia.<\/p>\n<p>Financially, sharing expenses is a significant relief. \u201cWith two people working, there\u2019s more income, which makes life easier,\u201d Paulo adds. One of the main issues Let\u00edcia and Paulo faced was the tendency to stick to their <strong>native language<\/strong> \u2014 in their case, Portuguese. This can limit opportunities for fully immersing in the English-speaking environment, which is crucial for improving language skills.<\/p>\n<p>They also emphasise the importance of having an <strong>open mindset<\/strong>. \u201cIf couples come here with a closed-off attitude, unwilling to make new friends, they\u2019ll miss out on a vital part of the exchange experience,\u201d Let\u00edcia warns. Making friends from different cultures is one of the greatest benefits of living abroad.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Advice for Couples Planning to Study Abroad<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Success as a couple abroad requires good communication and balance. For many, living together in a foreign country will be their first time cohabiting, which can be both exciting and challenging. Finding a balance between quality time together and personal independence is key. \u201cIt\u2019s important for each person to have their own space and make their own friends,\u201d Let\u00edcia advises.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Let\u00edcia and Paulo\u2019s Life in Ireland<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Let\u00edcia and Paulo encourage couples to embrace the adventure with an open heart. \u201cIf you\u2019re already in a relationship, go for it.
