A big congratulations goes out to Professor Tiago Mascarenhas, CEO of SEDA College, for his recent victory at the prestigious NAGA London 2024<\/a> competition! NAGA, the North American Grappling Association, is a giant in the world of grappling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and earning a champion’s belt at their events is a true mark of skill and dedication.<\/p>\n

Here at SEDA College, we’re not just proud of Tiago’s black belt-worthy performance, but also of his passion for martial arts and its positive impact on young lives.<\/p>\n

Building a Brighter Future Through Sports and Education:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Professor Mascarenhas’ commitment to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu extends far beyond the competition mat. SEDA College actively supports underprivileged young people and children in Brazil who train in Jiu-Jitsu. This social project aims to provide a powerful one-two punch: education and sporting opportunities.<\/p>\n

By empowering these young individuals with both academic skills (including English language learning) and the discipline and focus that martial arts instil, the project helps them overcome challenges and build a brighter future. This initiative has already transformed the lives of over 300 young people, allowing them to compete internationally, pursue education, and improve their overall well-being.<\/p>\n

“Jiu-Jitsu teaches valuable life skills like discipline, respect, and perseverance. Combining those with the opportunities of education gives these young people a powerful toolset to overcome obstacles and chase their dreams. I’m incredibly proud of SEDA College for supporting these athletes, and seeing them thrive motivates me both on and off the mat.” <\/em>said CEO Tiago Mascarenhas.<\/p>\n
