\u00a0Currently, a tourist visa is not required for Latin Americans who want to enter European Union countries, which includes Ireland.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this article, we are going to talk a little more deeply about what this authorization is, and what will change in 2023 for Latin Americans tourists.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is ETIAS?<\/span><\/p>\n

For those who don’t know, the ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) is an authorization for anyone who wants to visit any of the member countries of the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, Latin Americans who decide to travel to one of these countries can stay for up to 90 days without the need for a visa. However, from November 2023 this will change.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will be necessary, as we said, to issue an ETIAS, which is authorization for anyone wishing to stay for up to 90 days in any of the European Union countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

How will the ETIAS be issued?<\/span><\/p>\n

The ETIAS application will be made completely online, and to fill out the form it will be necessary to have a Latin American passport valid for up to three months beyond the date of the intended stay.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, you will also need a credit or debit card to pay the issuance fee in euros and an email address to receive the approval.<\/span><\/p>\n

The applicant will also need to inform if he has a criminal record and if he was present in a conflict zone, in addition to demonstrating if he has health problems.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the ETIAS authorization will be associated with the Brazilian passport sent during the registration process. As such, travellers presenting a non-ETIAS passport may be denied entry into a Schengen country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fee for issuing the document will be \u20ac7, which can be paid by debit or credit card, with children under 18 years old exempt from this payment.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the purpose of this authorization?<\/span><\/p>\n

The main objective of ETIAS is to control the immigration process in the Eurozone. In addition to increasing the security of the member countries that make up the bloc.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this sense, the idea is to prevent illegal immigration and even reduce delays at borders. Since those who have the ETIAS just present it.<\/span><\/p>\n
