SEDA College has been delivering English language courses in Dublin\u2019s City Centre in Ireland since 2009. As an ACELS and EAQUALS recognised English Language school, we understand the need to provide continuous training and development for our team of teachers and academic staff.\u00a0 Despite globally-reported labour shortages after the pandemic, SEDA has managed to maintain the highest quality of English Language teachers. <\/span><\/p>\n

We are now using our strength and expertise to deliver the Trinity College London CertTESOL course, a prestigious, internationally-recognised teacher training course that qualifies teachers with a university degree to teach English as a second language in Ireland, the UK and in most parts of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

CertTESOL<\/b><\/p>\n

SEDA is proud to be a recognised centre for the delivery of the Trinity College London Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.\u00a0 This is an internationally recognised initial teacher education qualification, rated as a Level 7 Minor Award on QQI\u2019s National Qualifications Framework.<\/span><\/p>\n

The CertTESOL course equips trainees with the basic skills and knowledge needed to take up their first post as ESOL teachers. It is a short intensive course (130+ hours)\u00a0 that looks at the theory and practice of English language teaching and learning, providing insights into the challenges faced by teaching professionals in the English Language classroom. The course provides hands-on practical experience of teaching multilingual adult students, where trainees are observed and provided with individual feedback on their teaching approach.<\/span><\/p>\n

Teacher Training and Erasmus+<\/b><\/p>\n

At SEDA we are also launching a new course programme entitled\u00a0 \u201cTeacher Development and Erasmus+\u201d. This Teacher Development programme is for in-service teachers who are interested in developing both their own English language skills and their knowledge and experience of CLIL, <\/span>Content and Language Integrated Learning.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The CLIL approach to teaching and learning, which is now embedded in European-level policies, has its origins in Europe in the 1990s. Since then, it has spread widely in primary and secondary education throughout the continent and beyond. It is regarded by EU institutions as an important instrument to foster European citizens\u2019 bi- and multilingualism, to be offered alongside regular foreign language teaching for students in mainstream education.<\/span><\/p>\n
